Dreaming in Another Language was the personal blog of Sara, Stargazed’s founder. She used it to share the daily life of a Costa Rican living abroad. It started when she was a teenager in the early 2000’s, so it was a bit all over the place and in need of some direction with the brand.
Audience
Dreaming in Another Language was aimed at fellow young adults interested in the small every day adventures of a Costa Rican living abroad.
This blog has been around for many, many years over different platforms. When they decided to move away from LiveJournal, it’s last home, to hosting it on WordPress, they decided they needed a new brand to go with it. And here it is!
The keywords for this project were dreamy, feminine, personal, fun, sweet. So, do you think they come through with this brand?
We wanted to play around a bit with this brand. Since it’s for a personal blog, there really are no services or products attached to it, it’s not a commercial project at all. But we let our imagination dream around a bit, and implemented this brand to some stationary. What do you think?
We used all three different textures from this brand on the stationery. One is a silver texture, they other two are very abstract. They were created with “dreaming” in mind, so, we think they fit rather nicely.
We had so much fun with this project! The textures are so delicate and beautiful, and the fonts so pretty, and well, since the brand is for our own project, we obviously had a lot of freedom to do with it what we wanted. That’s both a good and a bad thing, since there’s no real parameters and we have to decide when something is good enough or not. But we’re really happy with the results.
